Some states and countries, including the UK and France, now require age verification (AV) to access adult content sites.
We have added a couple features to help site owners manage this issue, including Landing Pages and the Thumbnail Blur option, which are both acceptable by payment processors, but might not be acceptable to the government if your business is located in these affected areas.
We have now integrated a tougher legal verification thru AgeVerification.org. This verification option requires the customer to verify by ID and face photo, which is the strictest compliance option, and approved in all restricted countries and states.
When the Age Verification option is Enabled in General Website Settings (Plugins), your site's homepage and content pages will display a popup with the AgeVerification.org warning and link to get verified.
This age verification option costs you nothing, although it does cost the customer $1.88USD. The customer receives LIFETIME verification for all sites using AgeVerification.org. If you have many sites, the customer will only need to verify once.
There are hundreds of sites already using this AV method and hopefully the list will keep growing. We're working with them to set up an index list, where your site will be listed.
The AgeVerification.org popup is disabled for the Support page, Join/Login page, and all Landing pages. This allows your customers to contact you, sign in or sign up for membership, and allows you to market thru Landing Pages without an AV popup. Redirect your paid and trade traffic to a landing page and your site is still in compliance if the main site is hidden by the AV popup.
The AgeVerification.org popup is only enabled for countries and states requiring verification.
The current list includes:
TIP: Use a VPN, such as NordVPN or ProtonVPN, to test your website after activating Age Verification.
All scripts are automatically installed on your site when the plugin is enabled, and removed if disabled.
We know this sucks, and it might go away with time if governments decide to care more about free speech, but as always in this industry, we have to go with the flow.
